Archaeologists are not always faced with ordinary discoveries sometimes they stumble upon things that are quite perplexing and baffling. Here are 10 of the most sensational and Amazing discoveriesthat are still to be properly explored.
10. The Yonaguni Monument Japan.
The Yonaguni Monument also known as Yonaguni Island submarine ruins is a submerged rock formation off the coast of Yonaguni. The southern most of the Ryukyu islands in Japan. It lies approximately a hundred kilometers east of Taiwan discovered by scuba diving instructor Kihachiro Aratake after he plunged into the water off the coast of the Japanese island of Yonaguni.
in 1986 the unsolved underwater mystery became known as Japan's Atlantis. a series of monoliths terraced into the side of a mountain lay six meters below the surface of the ocean. The gigantic rectangular formations with strikingly perfect 90-degree angles straight walls steppes and columns are believed to be the remains of an ancient city that sunk due to seismic events thousands of years ago.
Still no one knows for sure if it was just a giant piece of rock underwater. Then it wouldn't be that interesting but there are all sorts of details that would point to human influence. 9. Costa Rica's Stone Spheres.
Hundreds more have been discovered all over the country ranging in size from a few centimeters to over 2 meters in diameter. This fear sparked numerous myths and speculations. Scientists still don't know for sure what the purpose of these mysterious polished orbs might be. A collection of six now resides in the courtyard of Costa Rica's National Museum in San Jose.

The fans of conspiracy theories believe that the lines in the Nazca desert were created as an enormous airfield for aliens. The Nazca lines have been called the eighth wonder of the world. 1986 a group of archaeologists discovered an enormous dinosaur light claw when they were digging in a large cave system on mount Owen in New Zealand. The claw was still intact with muscles and scaly skin attached to it. Later the experts confirmed that it is the foot of now extinct wingless Birds MOA. The species disappeared about 2,000 years ago. MOA were huge birds measuring up to twelve feet in height and up to 250 kilograms in weight. Unfortunately they got hunted to extinction by our early ancestors.
The wolf's egg iron also known as the Salzburg cube is a small cuboid of massive iron. That was found buried in tertiary lignite in wolf Sethe in House Rock Austria in 1885. It weighs 785 grams and measures 67 by 67 by 44 millimeters. Four of its sides are roughly flat while the two remaining sides opposite each other are convex. A fairly deep groove is incised all the way around the object about midway up its height in reality. It is not a cube proper but rather a parallel piped. it was originally identified by scientists as being of meteoric origin.
5. The Unfinished Obelisk.
The unfinished obelisk is nearly one-third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. If finished it would have measured around 42 meters approximately 137 feet and would have weighed nearly 1090 metric tons. 1,200 tons a weight equal to about 200 African elephants. The work on the unfinished obelisk had been abandoned due to clearly visible cracks that appeared in the granite.
Virtually nothing is known about which Pharaoh ordered the obelisk and where it was supposed to be erected. Besides the unfinished obelisk an unfinished partly worked, obelisk base was discovered in 2005 at the quarries of Ozma. There also discovered were some rock carvings and remains that may correspond to the site where most of the famous obelisks were worked. All these quarries in Aswan and the unfinished objects are an open-air Museum and are officially protected by the Egyptian government as an archaeological site.
